Alachisoft NCache 4.1 - Online Documentation

Create New Bridge

NOTE: This feature is not available in NCache Express and Professional edition.

Following are the steps for creating a new bridge cache through wizard:

Step 1 of 6

To create a new Bridge, right click on 'Bridge' from the 'NCache Management' tree and select 'Create New Bridge' option from the context menu.

Step 2 of 6

Enter the Name for a bridge. Name is a unique identifier for the bridge cache. For a cluster, the identifier has to be unique on all the nodes that are a part of it.

Step 3 of 6

You can select the Bridge Member Nodes either by specifying the node name or by selecting it from the available nodes.

Step 4 of 6

In step 4, you have to specify topology for the bridge. Select any bridge topology from the list of topologies given:

  • Active Passive
  • Hub Spoke
  • Active Active
  • Star

Step 5 of 6

In step 5, you will be asked to specify the queue parameters:
  • Enter the Bridge Port; it specifies port number at which each node in bridge listens to accept the connections.
  • Enter the Maximum Queue Size; it specifies upper limit for the size of the queue in MB.
  • Enter Replication Queue Size; it specifies size of the replicator queue for each cache.
  • Enable Queue Optimization; will optimize the traffic between bridge caches and queue to enhance bridge operations.

Step 6 of 6

In step 6, you will be asked to specify some advance options.

You can configure the policies for the cache from here.
  • Enter Queue Replication Interval; it specifies time interval in seconds between two consecutive operations on all target caches.
  • Enter Connection Retry Interval; it specifies time interval in seconds between two consecutive connection retries to target caches.
  • "Start bridge on service restart" option will make it possible to start the bridge on service restart.

On clicking Finish button, the bridge will be created under the heading Bridges and will be shown in NCache Manager.
