General Settings

General Setting contains the general configurations for StorageEdge, for settings follow the steps given below:
  • Click on the Application Management tab on Central Administration page.
  • Click on Storage Optimization under StorageEdge Management.
  • Click on General Settings under Storage Optimization.
Specifying Staging Device:
A staging device is required to upload data asynchronously on a storage device. By default our storage provider is a File System which is fast enough to save data directly but for a storage provider like Cloud needs a staging area because it is comparatively slower than the File System. For a storage provider like cloud files will be uploaded temporarily on staging device and than to cloud. From this section user can specify the path for the staging device in this format: Path=\\ComputerName\SharedFolder. User Name and Password are optional fields.
  • If "Shred on delete" option is selected then deleted documents will not be recoverable again.
Specifying Retries Count:
From this section user can specify the "Number of Retries" incase the job does not execute successfully. User need to enter the number of retries to run the failed job.
Enabling Log detailed stake trace:
By enabling this section, user can view the log detailed stake trace otherwise a generalized error will be logged.
Enabling Email Notifications:
When any of the timer job is scheduled, user can configure StorageEdge to send email notification as soon as the job finishes. To receive email notification, enable the email notification option and enter the email address where user wish to receive notifications at.
