RESP Config (resp.ncconf)
NCache stores RESP Server listener settings in the resp.ncconf file. The file specifies the cache exposed through a Redis-compatible RESP endpoint, listener availability, CRC16-based cluster routing, the TCP port, and connection limits.
On Windows, the resp.ncconf file is located at:
C:\Program Files\NCache\config\resp.ncconf
Note
If NCache is installed at a custom location, the file is available in the config directory under the corresponding installation directory.
RESP Config Syntax
The following example shows a RESP listener configured for defaultCache on TCP port 9981, with CRC16 routing enabled:
<configuration>
<resp-servers>
<resp-server cache-id="defaultCache" enabled="true" crc-enabled="true" port="9981" max-connections="1000" idle-timeout="0"/>
</resp-servers>
</configuration>
Understanding the RESP Config Attributes
The resp.ncconf file contains the following elements and attributes:
configuration: Root element containing the RESP Server settings. The current configuration uses this element without additional attributes.
resp-servers: Contains the RESP listener configurations.
resp-server: Defines a RESP listener for a cache. Its attributes are:
- cache-id: Specifies the cache exposed through the RESP listener.
- enabled: Enables or disables the specified RESP listener.
- crc-enabled: Enables Redis-compatible CRC16 hash-slot routing when set to
true. When set tofalse, NCache uses server-side request forwarding. This attribute is not supported in NCache Open Source and must be omitted for that edition. - port: Specifies the TCP port on which the RESP listener accepts Redis client connections. The example uses
9981; the reserved RESP listener port range is9981–9989. - max-connections: Specifies the configured maximum number of client connections.
- idle-timeout: Specifies the idle connection timeout in seconds. A value of
0disables the idle timeout.
Important
Stop the target cache before modifying resp.ncconf. Apply the required listener configuration on each participating cache server, save the file, and start the cache to load the changes. Ensure that the configured RESP port is accessible to Redis clients.
