Configure NCache Servers in Azure Environment
To deploy and use NCache Enterprise and Professional services in Azure environment, NCache provides you with a deployment method where you host NCache images from Azure Marketplace.
This section guides you to deploy NCache servers through Azure Marketplace and create a cache cluster to be used with client applications in Azure.
Azure Marketplace VM
NCache provides images for Cache Servers on Azure Marketplace for Enterprise and Professional Editions.
This image is shipped with Windows Server 2019 and .NET Framework 4.7.2.
Licensing NCache Enterprise is available under the Bring Your Own License (BYOL) model.
Through Alachisoft Website
On the web browser, go to www.alachisoft.com.
Go to Download tab -> NCache.
Under the Azure Cloud Marketplace table, click on NCache Enterprise Software (Windows or Linux).
Through Azure Portal
Go to Azure portal from https://portal.azure.com/.
In Azure Marketplace, search for NCache.
Both these ways will take you to the NCache Enterprise image in Azure Marketplace.
Click on Get it Now.
Log in with your work email address. You are prompted with a window "Create this app in Azure". Click on Continue.
- You are redirected to Azure Portal. Log in with your Microsoft account to access NCache Enterprise cloud image.
- Click on Create. This opens up the Basics form to create a Virtual Machine. Fill this form to configure the settings for the cache and click on Review + Create.
This process will take some time to create your virtual machine running NCache in it. Once done, go to the deployed VM.
- From the left most bar, go to Connect.
Click on Download RDP File to download the link to your virtual machine.
Once downloaded, connect to the virtual machine created for cache server using the credentials provided in the form filled earlier.
Open PowerShell tool as Administrator to provide NCache evaluation.
You will not be able to use NCache unless you provide the evaluation key.
- Run the following command on the PowerShell window with the Evaluation Key to use NCache servers.
Register-NCache -Key your_eval_key -Environment Qa -Clients 6 -FirstName John -LastName Smith -Email email@example.com -Company Alachisoft -server 126.96.36.199
You need to repeat these steps on all machines for all cache servers.
