Prerequisites
Before deploying NCache Cloud on AWS, ensure that the following requirements are met to facilitate a seamless installation process.
Setup AWS Infrastructure
Ensure the following AWS resources and configurations are prepared before initiating deployment:
Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)
Single-Site or Multi-Zone: Exactly one VPC in the deployment region.
Multi-Region: One VPC in the primary region and one VPC in the secondary disaster recovery region (VPC peering can be configured for multi-region topologies).
Subnets: A dedicated subnet named ncache-subnet must be created inside your selected VPC. This can be configured either automatically via the provisioning script or manually. Depending on your deployment requirements, the subnet can operate in Public Mode (assigning public IP addresses directly to instances for evaluation and development) or Private Mode (deploying without public IPs, routing outbound internet connectivity through a NAT Gateway for production workloads).
Internet Gateway: Ensure that an Internet Gateway is attached to your VPC to support inbound/outbound internet routing.
Key Pairs
Single-Site / Multi-Zone: A valid EC2 key pair created in the target region.
Multi-Region: Two key pairs (one per region) required for multi-region setups.
Automated Prerequisite Script: Running the automated CloudShell PowerShell script is recommended (While creating stack). It validates your Internet Gateway, automatically provisions or reuses ncache-subnet, configures route tables, and sets up NAT Gateway resources if private mode is selected.
- For multi-region deployments, running the prerequisite script once in the primary region is mandatory as it provisions the required subnets, IAM roles, and WAF permissions without which the stack deployment will fail.
