Prerequisites
Before deploying NCache Cloud on Azure, ensure that the following requirements are met to facilitate a seamless installation process.
Setup Azure Infrastructure
Ensure the following Azure resources and permissions are configured before initiating deployment:
Target Resource Group: An existing resource group dedicated to hosting your network infrastructure.
Virtual Networks:
Single-Region or Multi-Zone: Exactly one Virtual Network (VNET) in the deployment region.
Multi-Region: One VNET in the primary region and one VNET in the secondary disaster recovery region. (VNET peering is orchestrated automatically during deployment).
Subnets: Dedicated subnets named
ncache-subnet(primary) andncache-subnet-secondary(multi-site/secondary) are automatically created inside your selected VNet by the prerequisite script. Both subnets require outbound internet access enabled, which is crucial for NCache servers to pull container images, license, and communicate with Azure management services.Microsoft Entra ID Licensing and Approver Account:
License Tier: A Microsoft Entra ID P2 subscription tier is required on the customer tenant to support Just-In-Time (JIT) access approval workflows.
Customer Approver Account: At least one licensed customer user account is required in your Entra ID tenant to act as the JIT approver. A single P2 license assigned to this customer account is sufficient, and the same account can be reused to approve JIT support requests across all deployments.
Permissions: The deploying user/identity must hold an Owner or Contributor role on the target resource group to authorize resource provisioning and manage role assignments.
Resource Provider Registration: Ensure that
Microsoft.Cdnis registered under your subscription to allow Azure Front Door provisioning.
Accepting NCache Cloud Image Terms
Before proceeding with any of the deployment plans, ensure that your Azure subscription has accepted the legal terms for NCache Cloud images. Failure to do so may result in a deployment error referencing "PurchaseIdentity.PrincipalName". For troubleshooting deployment errors, please see this link.
Use az vm image terms accept Azure CLI command to programmatically accept the legal license and purchase terms for a marketplace Virtual Machine (VM) image. This is mandatory when deploying specialized images that have extra costs or legal agreements, allowing the deployment to proceed without manual interaction. To resolve or prevent this error, run the following commands:
Launch Azure Cloud Shell: You can launch the Cloud Shell by clicking the >_ icon in the top navigation bar of the Azure Portal. Alternatively, visit shell.azure.com. Ensure your Cloud Shell environment is set to Bash (or execute Azure CLI commands directly).
Connect to Azure: Execute the following command to connect with Azure.
Connect-AzAccount
- Accept Terms: Execute the following script to accept the terms for NCache Cloud Marketplace images:
az vm image terms accept --publisher ncache --offer ncache_vm_offer_linux --plan byol-linux
az vm image terms accept --publisher ncache --offer ncache_vm_offer_linux --plan ent-4-2-linux
