Monitor Redis RESP Protocol Server in Windows
NCache RESP Server processes Redis client requests through the NCache cache host. You can monitor cache availability, client activity, throughput, and resource utilization using the existing NCache monitoring tools. These tools report cache and server activity, which may include operations performed by Redis clients; they should not be interpreted as providing RESP-specific metrics unless the corresponding counter or view explicitly identifies them.
Using NCache Management Center
NCache Management Center provides graphical and tabular dashboards for monitoring cache status, server activity, and performance counters. These views help assess the cache serving Redis applications, although the counters are not necessarily specific to RESP traffic. For monitoring procedures, refer to:
Using Windows Performance Monitor
Windows Performance Monitor (PerfMon) displays NCache performance counters for running caches. Counters such as Count, Requests/sec, Fetches/sec, and Updates/sec help you examine cache contents and activity, including operations that may originate from Redis applications. For counter descriptions and procedures, refer to:
Using PowerShell
NCache PowerShell cmdlets can retrieve cache server and client statistics and support periodic collection of performance data. Use these tools to inspect cache behavior from the command line or incorporate monitoring into administrative scripts. For available commands and examples, refer to:
Note
Cache client statistics documented for native NCache clients should not be assumed to represent third-party Redis clients. Use server-side counters to assess overall cache activity unless RESP-specific client metrics are explicitly available.
Using Logs and Windows Event Viewer
NCache logs record cache and service activity, warnings, and errors. On Windows, the default log directory is %NCHOME%\log-files, unless a different location has been configured. Windows Event Viewer provides additional information about service and cache lifecycle events. For log types and troubleshooting procedures, refer to:
Using Third-Party Tools
NCache supports external monitoring tools for collecting and visualizing cache performance counters. These integrations can help consolidate server-side cache activity with infrastructure metrics, subject to edition and deployment support. For supported integration procedures, refer to:
Diagnostics and Alerts
If Redis applications experience connection failures or unexpected cache behavior, use NCache diagnostic tools to investigate server health and cluster availability. NCache alerts can also report important cache and service events. For additional guidance, refer to:
Note
Native NCache client connectivity diagnostics and counters may not directly apply to third-party Redis libraries. For Redis connections, also verify the configured RESP endpoint, TCP port, protocol version, and security settings.
