The NCache team is excited to announce the release of NCache 5.3.8, a Long-Term Support (LTS) version! This major release introduces Redis protocol compatibility for Windows, fully managed NCache Cloud on Azure and AWS marketplaces, expanded .NET support, and significant enhancements to security, monitoring, and containerized deployments. The highlight of this release is the new Redis RESP Protocol Server for Windows by NCache, which enables applications using Redis client libraries to connect to NCache RESP Server by just pointing to it at runtime. Additionally, NCache 5.3.8 introduces Fully Managed NCache Cloud on Azure and AWS, upgrades the NCache Server to .NET 10, and restores support for legacy .NET Framework 4.0–4.8 applications. The release also delivers Semantic Versioning 2.0 with Rolling Upgrades, enhanced Kubernetes and Docker support, centralized client configuration through the new Thin Client architecture, and automatic TLS certificate renewal.

Redis RESP Protocol Server for Windows (New)
NCache now includes NCache RESP Server, a built-in Redis RESP Protocol Server, allowing existing Redis clients to connect to NCache using supported Redis commands.
- Redis Compatibility: Supports Redis client libraries for .NET, Java, Python, and Node.js.
- Integrated Windows Security: Redis clients use NCache’s existing authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- OSS Availability: Available also in NCache Open Source.
Fully Managed NCache Cloud on Azure and AWS (New)
NCache introduces Fully Managed NCache Cloud, simplifying cloud deployment and management through the integrated NCache Cloud Portal.
- Marketplace Plans: Hourly, Free Trial, and Multi-Cloud BYOL options.
- One-Click Deployment: Simplifies cloud deployment, including multi-region deployments.
- Automatic Patching and Upgrades: Supports scheduled patching and upgrades to keep cloud environments up to date.
.NET 10 and .NET Framework 4.0 – 4.8 Support
NCache Server now runs on .NET 10 while supporting applications built on .NET 6–10 and .NET Framework 4.0–4.8. Modern and legacy applications can connect to the same NCache cluster, simplifying application modernization.
Semantic Versioning 2.0 and Rolling Upgrades (New)
NCache introduces Semantic Versioning 2.0 (SemVer 2.0) and rolling upgrades for MINOR and PATCH releases. Administrators can upgrade cluster nodes individually while keeping the cache cluster and applications running, minimizing service disruption.
Enhanced Docker and Kubernetes Support (New)
NCache 5.3.8 simplifies container deployments through:
- Helm Charts: Streamline deployment, scaling, and rolling upgrades on on-premises Kubernetes, AKS, and EKS.
- Docker Compose Support: Deploy multi-node NCache clusters using a single Docker Compose definition.
Prometheus and OpenTelemetry Monitoring
Enhanced OpenTelemetry integration supports centralized metrics and event logging, while built-in Prometheus-compatible and JSON metrics endpoints simplify monitoring. Improved client-side metrics and service health checks provide greater visibility into cache performance.
New Thin Client Architecture
The new Thin Client architecture simplifies application configuration by requiring only essential connection details on the client. Connection, logging, retry, and Client Cache settings are centrally managed by the server and delivered to clients at runtime.
Enhanced TLS Security
NCache introduces automatically renewable TLS certificates, reducing manual certificate management. The updated security framework also supports custom PEM certificates, mutual TLS, and TLS 1.3 for secure communication across supported platforms.
