Notes:

 
1. NCache Cloud Plans
   1. Hourly Plan: When you sign up for an hourly plan, choose an NCache server profile and the number of servers; all of this is automatically deployed for you. Then, you start paying the hourly server charges as described below. You can deploy multiple hourly plans into separate deployments for your Prod, DR, Staging, Test, QA, and Dev environments.
   2. Free Trial Plan (30-Day): Register with Alachisoft to get a free trial key to use on Azure/AWS Marketplace. When you sign up for a Free Trial plan, NCache software is free, and you only pay for the infrastructure. When you select this plan, you can choose any server profile and number of servers, and all of it is automatically deployed for you. You can deploy multiple Free Trial plan environments as long as your trial period is active. You can extend this trial by contacting our sales team.
   3. BYOL Plan: When you sign up for a BYOL plan, it is assumed that you’ve already purchased an NCache software license separately, so “software” is free now, and you only pay for the infrastructure. When you select a BYOL plan, you provide an NCache server-only license key that is used to activate all the cache servers in this deployment. When you select this plan, you can choose any server profile and number of servers, and all of it is automatically deployed for you. You can deploy multiple BYOL plan environments as long as your NCache license key has sufficient licenses to activate all the cache servers.
   4. Free Dev Workstation: When you install NuGet, Maven, PyPi, or npm on your Dev Workstation, all of which include the full NCache API, you also get a stand-alone InProc cache against which you can do your development. You can also deploy a stand-alone NCache Docker container (Linux) on your Dev Workstation with WSL, which comes with a local OutProc cache. In both cases, you get a max of 2 GB aggregated cache size and performance limits of less than 25 req/sec total.
2. Azure AKS / Amazon EKS dedicated cluster: NCache Cloud is deployed as a dedicated Azure AKS / Amazon EKS cluster with an endpoint with a private ip-address and optionally a second endpoint with a public ip-address. The private endpoint contains port forwarding for both data clients and cache management, whereas the public endpoint only allows cache management. For better security with the public ip-address, you can also create a whitelist ip-addresses where only they can access this public ip-address. This Azure AKS / Amazon EKS cluster is fully managed, but it is created inside your Azure/AWS VNET/VPC for better security and control for mission-critical applications.
3. Fully Managed (with security): NCache Cloud is fully managed even though it is deployed inside your Azure/AWS environment. Fully managed includes monthly OS patches that are handled automatically based on a maintenance window that you specify at the time of purchase (you can change it later, too). Fully managed also means that if you run into any difficulties, you contact NCache tech support, give them temporary permission to your NCache Azure AKS / Amazon EKS cluster from the Azure/AWS Portal, and they will have an online meeting with you while analyzing and fixing the issue in front of you. You don’t have to develop any NCache operations expertise here. This fully managed option is more secure because the NCache tech support team does not have unrestricted access to the NCache cloud Azure AKS / Amazon EKS cluster unless you grant it. If you’ve purchased 24x7 support, then the SLA for the NCache tech support team is 1 hour.
4. Buy from Azure/AWS Marketplace: You must buy NCache Cloud from Azure/AWS Marketplace and pay Azure/AWS directly for it. Please contact sales for a private offer if you want a 1-year reservation with discounts.
5. "Software" Charges: When you purchase NCache Cloud from Azure/AWS Marketplace, your bill contains separate line items for the software cost and the infrastructure cost. Software cost here refers to NCache hourly server charges based on the server profile you’ve selected and the number of NCache servers deployed.
6. Azure "Infrastructure" Charges: Your bill also contains separate line items for the infrastructure costs. Infrastructure costs include the following:
   1. Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS): AKS cluster charges as published by Azure are approximately $78/month.
   2. Virtual Machine (VM): cost for each worker node in AKS. Each NCache server pod uses one worker node, and the VM profile is based on the NCache server profile. See the estimated VM prices above in the pricing table for each server profile.
   3. 1 private Azure load balancer: cost includes hourly charges of $18/month and a small data processing fee of $0.005/GB. Used for data clients and cache management.
   4. 1 public Azure load balancer (optional): cost includes hourly charges of $18/month, a small data processing fee of $0.005/GB, and a public ip-address for $4/mon. Used only for cache management.
7. AWS "Infrastructure" Charges: Your bill also contains separate line items for the infrastructure costs. Infrastructure costs include the following:
   1. Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS): EKS cluster charges as published by AWS are approximately$75/month.
   2. Virtual Machine (VM): cost for each worker node in EKS. Each NCache server pod uses one worker node, and the VM profile is based on the NCache server profile. See the estimated VM prices above in the pricing table for each server profile.
   3. 1 private AWS Network Load Balancer (NLB): cost includes hourly charges of$18/month and a small data processing fee of$0.006/GB. Used for data clients and cache management.
   4. 1 public AWS Network Load Balancer (NLB) (optional): cost includes hourly charges of$18/month, a small data processing fee of$0.006/GB, and a public ip-address for$4/mon. Used only for cache management.
8. Load Balancer Data Processing Cost:
   1. Azure Load Balancer (LB): Azure charges a data processing fee of $0.005/GB for each Load Balancer.
   2. AWS Network Load Balancer (NLB): AWS charges a data processing fee of $0.006/GB for each NLB.
9. Data Transfer Cost
   1. Azure: No data transfer costs are charged if the client application and NCache Cloud AKS cluster are in the same region, even if in different availability zones. For the client in a different region, there are different data transfer costs involved, from $0.02/GB to $0.16/GB, depending on the region. See Azure pricing for it.
   2. AWS: No data transfer costs are charged if the client application and NCache Cloud EKS cluster are in the same region and availability zone. There is a $0.02/GB data transfer cost if the client is in a different availability zone in the same region. For the client in a different region, there are different data transfer costs involved depending on the regions. See AWS pricing for it.
 
10. 99.9%, 99.95%, and 99.99% uptime: When you deploy NCache Cloud, it is deployed as a dedicated Azure AKS / AWS EKS cluster with a minimum of 2+ cache server pods. Each cache server pod gets its own dedicated worker node for high availability. You must select Partition-Replica Cache or Replicated Cache for high availability, as Partitioned Cache does not provide any replication. After doing all of this, you can hope to achieve the following uptime goals. Please note that scheduled weekly maintenance downtime is not considered part of this uptime goal:
    1. 99.9% uptime: If NCache Cloud is deployed in a single availability zone, you get 99.9% uptime.
    2. 99.95% uptime: If you choose a multi-zone configuration, NCache Cloud creates an Azure AKS / AWS EKS cluster spanning both zones. NCache then creates 2 caches, one in each zone, and uses its Bridge Topology feature to synchronize both caches in an active-active manner. This gives you 99.95% uptime.
    3. 99.99% uptime: If you choose multi-region configuration, NCache Cloud creates 2 separate Azure AKS / AWS EKS clusters, one in each region. NCache then creates 2 caches, one in each region, and uses its Bridge Topology feature to synchronize both caches across regions in an active-active manner. This gives you 99.99% uptime.
