San Ramon, California - April 25th, 2008 - Alachisoft has recently announced the introduction of Mirrored Cache Topology in NCache 3.2, a two node active/passive topology which makes it faster than Replicated Topology and provides a much better reliability. Now you can get an enhanced and reliable back up performance for web farms of size upto 10 web servers.
Mirrored Cache uses an "Asynchronous" mode of replication. It allows you to set the one node as "Active: and the other as "Passive". If the "Active" node stops then the "Passive" node changes its status to "Active" and starts interacting with the clients without causing any delays for the clients. If the node starts again it will join the cluster as a passive node. The status restores the default Active/Passive nodes only when the current active node stops or disconnects from the cluster.
The port configuration is limited to single port, due to which it support the web farms of size upto 10 web servers. There is no InProc mode for this topology. Everything is done under OutProc mode. It is the responsibility of the active node to handle the eviction policy. As soon as the "Passive" node becomes "Active" the expiration and eviction starts taking place.
"NCache has already benefited number of clients in US and Europe by speeding up the .NET applications and reducing cost on investing in new hardware for a distributed environment. With the introduction of new Mirror topology, NCache has become a more power full Object Caching solution than before" said Iqbal Khan, President & Technology Evangelist at Alachisoft.
NCache ensures that all the data in the cache is synchronized always throughout the cluster.
Alachisoft, a Florida based company, designs, develops, and markets NCache and TierDeveloper for .NET. NCache, a clustered object cache for .NET, allows customers to boost performance of their applications by as much as 10 times. And, TierDeveloper, an object to relational (O/R) mapping code generator for .NET, cuts down development time by 50%.
